Chiefs looking to fill intern positions
The positions of Production/Promotions Intern, Marketing/Graphic Design Intern and Turf Management Intern are currently open to any full-time college student who can earn college credit for a summer internship. All three internships begin in March and run through the 2006 Chiefs season.
The Production/Promotions Intern reports to the Events & Entertainment Manager and is responsible for: the execution of the pre-production schedule which includes video and audio editing, graphic design updates and planning for between inning contests; the execution of production including camera operation, audio & video click effects operation, digital switching, and tape operation; planning and coordinating pre-game show and in-game entertainment including production, direction and securing special guests such as mascots, celebrities, athletes, performers, etc.; executing the production of all 70 Chiefs home games which includes, but is not limited to, camera work, game directing, running audio and video for the stadium video board, running the replay machine and scheduling employees to efficiently run each of the above positions.
The Marketing/Graphic Design Intern reports to the Director of Marketing and is responsible for: helping to develop and execute the 2006 Chiefs marketing plan on a seasonal and homestand level; working with corporate partners to ensure that all aspects of partnerships are maintained and executed; Working with the Director of Marketing to complete all new (video and print) graphic design projects before the next homestand. Finally they must be outgoing as well as ready and willing to work in a fast paced, fun filled team environment. An applicant with both a graphics and marketing background is preferred, however either or is acceptable and will be versed in the other applicable background.
The Turf Management Intern reports to the Head Groundskeeper and is responsible for: assisting in the set-up for games and all on-field events, as well as outside events; mowing, edging, and tarping the field; compaction prevention and management; pest identification and management; infield and mound repair; field renovation projects; budgeting and scheduling seasonal employees; control and monitoring of irrigation system; and optional fertilizer/pesticide applications.
