Nats' Hot Stove Banquet rescheduled

February 14, 2006
WOODBRIDGE, Va. -- The snow last weekend caused more than just schools to close as the Potomac Nationals Hot Stove Banquet was postponed until Thursday, March 9, 2006, at the Hyatt Fair Lakes in Fairfax, Va.

The annual event was slated for Feb. 12, however, the snow storm that struck the East Coast decided to take over the date and forced several cancellations, including the flights of our speakers.

The silent auction to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the National Capital Area will still take place between 6-8:15 p.m., with many great auction items available for bid.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the cocktail hour, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. at the facility's banquet hall.

"The Hot Stove Banquet will have the same schedule as the last one with a couple of minor changes here and there," said Nationals general manager Bobby Holland. "We'd like to thank the Hyatt Fair Lakes for their support and helping us find another date before the season starts."

The Nationals are also extending the RSVP date to give fans who weren't able to make the last date or just missed out on the deadline by a couple of days the opportunity to reply and attend.

"Because of the delay, we want to give fans who couldn't attend on the first date the chance to attend this one," Holland said. "We're extending our RSVP date until March 3."

All guests who were attending on Feb. 12 must contact the community relations office by Friday, March 3, to advise whether you can or cannot attend on March 9. Any fan wishing to RSVP for the March 9 event may do so by contacting Maureen Connolly at (703) 590-2311, ext. 224, or by email at [email protected]. Any RSVPs or requests for refunds after March 3 will not be accepted.
