42 Thunder Players In NY Yankees Training Camp
As you tune in to New York Yankees Spring Training games this year, you'll undoubtedly see some players who are quite familiar to Thunder fans. The Yankees have 42 players in Big League Training Camp, at least at the start, who have worn Thunder pinstripes.
The following list is the non-roster invitees who have played for Trenton: Tyler Austin, Preston Claiborne, Adonis Garcia, Kyle Higashioka, Walter Ibarra, Tom Kahnle, Addison Maruszak, Mark Montgomery, Luke Murton, Ronnier Mustelier, J.R. Murphy, Vidal Nuno, Mike O'Brien, Kelvin Perez, Branden Pinder, Jose Pirela, Ryan Pope, Rob Segedin, and Chase Whitley.
In addition, the following 23 Thunder alums are in Major League Camp because they are on the 40-Man Yankees MLB Roster: Manny Banuelos, Dellin Betances, Joba Chamberlain, Phil Hughes, Brett Marshall (pictured), Ivan Nova, Andy Pettitte, David Phelps, David Robertson, Nik Turley, Adam Warren, Francisco Cervelli, Austin Romine, David Adams, Robinson Cano, Derek Jeter, Corban Joseph, Eduardo Nunez, Kevin Youkilis, Zoilo Almonte, Ramon Flores, Brett Gardner and Melky Mesa.
Minor League players will report to camp on March 4.
