Royals Spring Training Report: February 27

SPRINGDALE, AR - Lorenzo Cain scored the game-winning run on a single in the seventh inning as the Kansas City Royals improved their Cactus League record to 5-0-1 with a 3-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. Cain, who played in seven games with the Naturals on a rehab assignment last season, scored on a single by Max Ramirez. The battle for the final spot in the Royals rotation continued on Wednesday as Luke Hochevar and Bruce Chen each had solid outings. Hochevar gave up one run in 1.2 innings, while Chen pitched two scoreless innings. 2012 Natural Michael Mariot earned his second save of Spring Training with a scoreless ninth inning. The Royals will take on the San Diego Padres tomorrow at 2:05 p.m in Peoria, AZ.
