Cedeno worked 7.2 scoreless innings to improve his season record to 7-6. He allowed only six hits and did not walk a batter in the shutout performance.
Eduardo Valdez worked a perfect 1.1 relief innings to complete the shutout.
The Drillers took a lead they never relinquished with a run in the top of the first inning. Corey Wimberly, after reaching on a fielder's choice, moved into scoring postion by stealing second base. Dexter Fowler then brought him home with an RBI single that made it 1-0.
A two-run triple by Eric Young Jr. in the second inning increased the lead to 3-0.
The Drillers closed out the game's scoring in the fifth as Fowler doubled and scored on a base hit by Jeff Kindel.
Inman was tagged for the loss, dropping his record to 8-4. He surrendered seven hits and four runs in 5.2 innings.
The win improved Tulsa's second-half record to 5-4 and kept them in a first-place tie with Springfield in the North Division standings.
The Drillers and Missions will play game two of their series Monday night. Tulsa's Chaz Roe (2-0, 3.00 ERA) will look for his third win, while San Antonio will counter with Matthew Buschmann (6-5, 3.48 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05PM.
