Meet RHP #21 Wayman Gooch
Wayman Gooch is a 6'3" 185-pound right-hander from Union City, CA. He was drafted in the 32nd round of the 2008 draft by the Florida Marlins, after being drafted in the 33rd round by the Colorado Rockies in 2007. He originally played for Ohlone C.C. before playing at Lewis-Clark State College last season. Gooch has been impressive so far for the Jammers, posting a 1-0 record with a 3.38 ERA in his first four appearances in 2008. He enjoys playing basketball and listening to R&B and Hip Hop in his spare time. His favorite sports teams include the Golden State Warriors, Oakland Raiders, San Jose Sharks, and the Florida Marlins. He tries to emulate his pitching after Johan Santana and Dontrelle Willis. Gooch chose "Let The Beat Build" by Lil Wayne as his walk up song.
