Two championship rings to be raffled off

Proceeds from raffle will benefit two local little leagues
March 20, 2013

LANCASTER, CA - The Lancaster JetHawks have partnered with two local little leagues to host a special raffle giving two individuals the opportunity to win an authentic customized 2012 California League Championship Ring. Proceeds from the raffle will be donated to West Lancaster and Quartz Hill Little Leagues.

Raffle tickets are on sale now and will be sold through June 10. Tickets will be available for $5 each, or five for $20, at every JetHawks home game as well as at the JetHawks front office located at The Hangar and online at jethawks.com.

The winning raffle tickets will be drawn just prior to the JetHawks game on June 12. The two winners will receive custom-made rings personalized with their own last name during a special pre-game ceremony that will take place at a JetHawks game in late August.

"The JetHawks first-ever championship is reason to celebrate and we have enjoyed sharing this special experience with the community we call home", said JetHawks General Manager Derek Sharp. "We are excited to present this opportunity for two lucky fans to win an authentic championship ring while also raising money for two local little leagues."

As an added bonus, each raffle ticket sold will be eligible to be used for a complimentary game ticket to any of the JetHawks home games scheduled for June 20, 21 or 23. All raffle tickets may be brought to The Hangar box office and exchanged for a game ticket on any of the three days listed in June, based upon availability.

The JetHawks have partnered with Josten's to design and produce the team's championship rings. Josten's is recognized as being a leader in the design and manufacturing of jewelry, medals and awards for world-class events including the Olympics, Super Bowl, World Series, Major and Minor League Sports and NCAA Championships.

The 2012 California League Championship ring features a raised bezel that includes the JetHawks home cap "shield" logo placed on top of a bed of diamonds. The left side flank features the recipients name at the top over the Houston Astros logo, which is set in brilliant orange color. The recipient's position within the organization is listed below the Astros logo. The right side flank features the "Lancaster" script logo at the top, set just above the California League logo and a banner commemorating the JetHawks first-ever championship. On the inside of the ring is an engraving commemorating the date the JetHawks won the championship, September 15, 2012.

A total of 87 rings are being produced for members of last year's team and coaching staff, Astros management and player development staff, JetHawks ownership and front office staff and major partners of the organization. Members of last year's championship team received their rings in a special private ceremony earlier this month at the Astros Spring Training complex in Kissimmee, Fla. All other recipients will receive their rings during special pre-game ceremonies as part of the JetHawks Opening Night Celebration on April 4 at The Hangar.
