Score For The Shore; BlueClaws Partner With AT&T
LAKEWOOD, NJ - Every time the BlueClaws score a run in the first-half of the season, AT&T will make a donation to BlueClaws Charities Sandy relief efforts as part of an all-new Score For The Shore campaign announced today.
"AT&T is proud to support BlueClaws Charities relief for victims of Sandy in New Jersey," said Tom DeVito, vice president and general manager, AT&T New Jersey/New York. "So many of our employees, family, and friends are still struggling from the after-effects of the super storm and we urge the public to pitch in and do what they can as those communities re-build their homes and businesses."
A formal check presentation will be made at the 2013 South Atlantic League All-Star Game, which will be held at FirstEnergy Park on June 18th. The first-half of the season runs from Opening Day, April 4th, through June 16th.
"We're extremely grateful to AT&T for their support of BlueClaws Charities and the Jersey Shore community as a whole," said BlueClaws general manager Brandon Marano. "Our guys will go out and score as many runs as they can and hopefully we raise a lot of money for relief efforts."
BlueClaws Charities is presently collecting grant applications from individuals, groups, and businesses that sustained damage during Hurricane Sandy. Applications are available at BlueClaws.com/Restore.
BlueClaws players and coaches will be wearing special Restore the Shore jerseys on Opening Weekend (April 4th - 7th), with each jersey having the name of one Sandy-impacted town from Ocean or Monmouth Counties. The jerseys will be auctioned off, also to benefit relief efforts, via a silent auction that opens on April 4th and closes at the April 7th game. April 5th, 6th, and 7th are part of Asbury Park Press Dollar Weekend, with reserve seats and Sod Squad tickets available for just $1 thanks to the Asbury Park Press.
The BlueClaws are the Jersey Shore's top stop for affordable, family entertainment. They have led the South Atlantic League and New Jersey in attendance in all 12 years of existence.
In June, the BlueClaws will host the 2013 ClawStar Spectacular, consisting of a Celebrity Hitting Challenge on June 17th and the South Atlantic League All-Star Game on June 18th. The events are presented by Kimball & Community Medical Centers, OceanFirst Bank, and Shore Point Distributing Company. More information is available at BlueClaws.com/AllStar.
