Trevor Amicone New Voice of the Owlz

April 1, 2013

Trevor Amicone has been named the Director of Broadcasting for the Orem Owlz. This will be Amicone's second stint with the Owlz. He was a radio and TV broadcaster and producer with the organization during the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

"I'm so excited to be coming back to the Owlz organization and working with the great people in it," Amicone said. "It's such a privilege to be able to work in the Angels organization as well. I look forward to bringing the fans all the exciting action that the Angels bring to Orem."

Amicone is a well-respected voice in the Utah sports media market, having covered college football for KSL.com and the Deseret News.

A graduate of Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, Amicone also served as a play-by-play broadcaster for Weber State men's and women's basketball, football and hockey.

The new voice of the Owlz is part of one of Utah's most influential baseball families. Amicone's father, Marc, is the general manager of the Salt Lake Bees, the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Amicone's mother, Mary Kay, is the head softball coach at Salt Lake Community College, a perennial junior college softball powerhouse. Amicone's younger brother, Derek, is an assistant baseball coach at the University of Utah and former infielder at Utah Valley University.

Amicone played baseball at Salt Lake Community College before pursuing broadcasting.

Amicone has also spent time working with the Salt Lake Bees and the Utah Jazz. Most recently Amicone was the director of video operations and a communications assistant in the Weber State Athletics Department.
