Bisons add Loewen, Anderson dealt

Slugging first baseman returns to Buffalo
April 2, 2013

The Buffalo Bisons today announced that INF ADAM LOEWEN has been promoted to the club from Double-A New Hampshire. He'll fill the roster spot of INF LARS ANDERSON, who was traded to the Chicago White Sox on Monday.

Loewen, 28, played 59 games with the Bisons last season and hit .227 (47-207) with 10 doubles, eight home runs and 26 RBI. The slugger missed 61 games on the disabled list with a stress fracture in his right foot. A native of British Columbia, Loewen hit .200 (2-10) with three RBI in three games for Team Canada in the World Baseball Classic.

Anderson initially went to spring training with the White Sox but was claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays on February 25. He was then designed off Toronto's 40-man roster on March 29 and upon clearing waivers, was dealt back to the White Sox organization.
