Owlz and UVU agree to 10 year lease extension
The Orem Owlz, affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, announced that they have extended their lease of the baseball facilities with Utah Valley University.
UVU has been the home of the Owlz since 2005 and will remain their home until at least 2023. With UVU's baseball stadium praised as one of the most charming venues in all of professional baseball, the Owlz are excited to continue their relationship with the University and the valley's vibrant surrounding community.
"From the outset of our move into Orem, I have always strived to make the Owlz an integral and permanent part of the Utah Valley community," says Jeff Katofsky, majority owner of the Owlz. "The Owlz and UVU have worked together for a long period of time to build this relationship and we are thrilled to be able to continue to call UVU's baseball diamond our home venue for another decade."
Val Peterson, Vice President of Finance and Administration for UVU, was quoted "The Owlz have been a great asset to the community. We are excited to continue our relationship with them and the Angels organization. The community enjoys the opportunity to have minor league baseball as one of their many entertainment options and UVU is happy we can be responsive to the community."
The lease has been approved by both the Pioneer League and Minor League Baseball and is now in full effect.
