Salem Red Sox Expand Food Options at LewisGale Field

Salem, VA - The Salem Red Sox have announced an expansion of food options at LewisGale Field for the 2013 season. The expansion to enhance the fan experience includes a gourmet hot dog stand, pizza stand, milkshakes, new grill items, and new IT infrastructure designed to reduce wait times in premium service sections.

 

"Swine Drive Deli Dawgs" is a new specialty hot dog stand to feature over 50 different Deli Dawgs over the course of the 2013 season. Located on the first base side of the ballpark, everyday items include Pig Wings, the Chicago Dawg with yellow mustard, tomatoes, onions, pickles, celery salt, relish, and sport peppers, and the Hawaiian Dawg with pulled pork, pineapple, and teriyaki sauce.

 

The "Roman Umpire," a tribute to the invention of pizza years ago, has expanded options that invite fans to build their own pizza using dozens of new options. The "Sweet Spot," a dessert vendor serving Hershey's ice cream, will feature milkshakes throughout the 2013 season.

 

Bull and Bones has partnered with the Salem Red Sox to introduce a new menu to the popular grill area, now named the "Bull and Bones Grill." The Bull and Bones Grill will feature six different types of flamed-broiled specialty burgers, five specialty sandwiches and Bull and Bones famous wings.

 

"It has become a core priority to reduce the wait time for our customers and offer items as fresh as possible," said Salem Director of Food and Beverage Tim Anderson. "The new ordering software will reduce the processing time for each order and ease the flow of operations to provide the best product possible to the fan."

 

The Salem Red Sox open the 2013 season on the road in Frederick, MD on Friday, April 5 before returning to the Roanoke Valley for their home opener on Friday, April 12. New items from "Swine Drive and the "Bull and Bones Grill" are as follows:
