Brian Fletcher Placed on Disabled List

SPRINGDALE, Ark. - The Naturals' parent club, the Kansas City Royals announced a pair of transactions on Thursday affecting the Northwest Arkansas roster. Outfielder Brian Fletcher has been placed on the 7-Day Disabled List retroactive to April 9, while outfielder Roman Hernandez has been activated from the 7-Day Disabled List.

Fletcher has appeared in five games this season, batting .158 with two home runs, three RBI and nine total bases. Fletcher spent 2012 with Class-A Advanced Wilmington the Naturals, batting .289 with 71 hits, 15 doubles, five home runs and 25 RBI in 67 games for the Blue Rocks. Fletcher was promoted to Northwest Arkansas on June 20, compiling a .256 batting average with 65 hits, 11 doubles, 10 home runs and 34 RBI in 65 games.

Hernandez spent his first professional season with Wilmington, batting .223 with 57 hits, 10 doubles and 15 RBI. Hernandez signed with Kansas City on Feb 1, 2012 after defecting from Cuba.

Hernandez will wear number 15 for the Naturals. Following the transaction, the Naturals' roster is at the Texas League limit of 25 players.
