Former Storm All-Star Headley returns
Lake Elsinore, CA-Former Storm and current San Diego Padres Slugger Chase Headley will return to The Diamond once again in a rehab assignment for tonight's 7:05 p.m. match up against Inland Empire. Headley will be with the Storm through the weekend.
Headley has been sidelined with a broken thumb since March 17, after sliding into second base trying to break up a double play in Spring Training.
While playing with the Storm in 2006, Chase hit .291 with 12 homeruns and 33 doubles in 129 games. He ranked fourth among California League leaders in walks (74) while earning Mid-and Post-Season All-Star honors.
Last season with the Padres, Headley was recognized with his first career Silver Slugger award and Gold Glove. He was named the Padres MVP and finished fifth among National League voting.
