Fifth AV Autism Walk on Saturday
LANCASTER, Calif. - The fifth annual AV Autism Walk and Resource Fair will take place at The Hangar this Saturday, April 13. The fair will begin at 10:00 am and end at 1:00 pm. The event is free to attend and registration begins at 9:00 am.
Attendees will walk around the warning track to show their support for autism awareness. Donations will be accepted at The Hangar and online at avautismwalk.com.
The Family Focus Resource & Empowerment Center is working with the JetHawks to coordinate the event and all proceeds will go toward funding social and recreational activities for children and families affected by autism throughout the Antelope Valley.
The Resource Fair will feature music and entertainment; an autism-friendly kids zone, food, raffles and prizes.
The Star Wars characters from the 501st Legion will also be in attendance as well as music by The Suits.
In addition to the autism walk, the JetHawks will host Autism Awareness Night on Friday, April 19 when they take on the Bakersfield Blaze. The JetHawks will wear special Autism Awareness uniforms that will be auctioned off at the game.
