Chukars take first game in Idaho
It was the first clash of a four-game series here, and dropped manager Chris Cron's team to 9-8 in the second half of the Northern Division schedule. Idaho Falls is 6-11 in Southern Division play.
The lone Great Falls run came in the fifth inning as Jesus Avila tripled to score Doug Thennis, who had walked.
The Chukars scored twice in the bottom of the fifth inning on four hits to go on top 5-1; neither team scored in the final four innings.
Lefthander Kevin Skogley (4-3) took the mound loss for Great Falls, giving up 11 hits in four-plus innings. Relievers Dan Remenowsky and Wilmer Rojas kept the Chukars off the board after that.
Avila and Kyle Shelton each had two hits for the Voyagers, who beat the Chukars two out of three in Great Falls.
The Voyagers fell to 28-27 for the season.
