League Sets All-Time Attendance Record Wednesday

League on pace to shatter record established in 2006 season

The Texas League announced Wednesday evening that with tonight's attendance at Arvest Ballpark along with the three other games played at Corpus Christi, San Antonio, and Tulsa that the league has broken its record attendance mark of 2,842,031 fans set two seasons ago. The Texas League has been keeping attendance figures since 1922.

Through games as of Tuesday night, the eight franchises in the Texas League had drawn 2,837,663 fans this season over 498 gate openings, an average of 5,698 fans, with Frisco pacing the league with an average of 8,236 fans per game, the best average attendance amongst all 30 Double-A Baseball clubs nationwide. The league is on pace to shatter the attendance mark and, with tonight's attendance and 12 more dates worth of Texas League games remaining in the 2008 regular season, a total Texas League attendance figure of 3.1 million fans is within reach.

With tonight's attendance of 4,089, the Naturals have passed the 325,000 mark and are on pace to draw over 350,000 fans in their inaugural season at Arvest Ballpark.
