Chukars' Hosmer heads to Arizona
Questions have risen regarding Hosmer's recently signed $6 million contract, and while things are sorted out the Royals have decided to pull him from formal game play. Hosmer will work out individually in Surprise for the foreseeable future and will not be back in Idaho Falls this season.
Hosmer joined the Chukars during a road trip to Ogden, Utah last weekend and did not play in both of the games he was in uniform there. After the road trip Hosmer made two starts as the designated hitter and then one start at first base. In all three games he played, Hosmer had at least one hit and he finished his time in Idaho Falls 4-for-11, with two doubles, two runs, two RBIs, and three walks. Hosmer was in the stands at Melaleuca Field for two more games after he was told to stop playing.
