Ortiz goes deep - PawSox go Down - Papi is done
(Pawtucket, RI) - For the third consecutive ballgame David Ortiz homered, but the PawSox had their 4 game winning streak snapped, falling to Toledo 13-5. Ortiz smashed a pitch from Chris Lambert deep into the right-centerfield bleachers in the third inning. After the game Ortiz informed manager Ron Johnson that he would not play in the series finale on Sunday. In three games with Pawtucket, Big Papi went 3-9 with three home runs. Ortiz hopes to return to the Boston lineup in time for the series with the Yankees on July 25. Charlie Zink (11-3) suffered the loss giving up 9 runs in just an inning and two thirds. It was the shortest outing of the year for Zink. George Kottaras added three hits for the PawSox including his 18th homer. The series and homestand wraps up Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. David Pauley (11-2) faces Yorman Bazardo (3-5). Prior to the game Ben Mondor, Jim Rice and Joe Morgan will be inducted into the International League Hall of Fame.
