Frontier and the Hops Play Ball
HILLSBORO, Ore. April 23, 2013 - Frontier Communications and the Hillsboro Hops announced today a multi-year agreement has been reached for Frontier Communications to provide communications services at the new Hillsboro baseball stadium. Services will include FiOS® internet, Wi-Fi, phone and FiOS TV. In addition, Frontier and the Hops announced a sponsorship of a seating area to be known as the "Frontier Family Berm."
"We are thrilled to be literally at the ground level of launching the Hillsboro Hops, and the return of minor league baseball to the Hillsboro community," said Jeanne Danielson, Frontier's General Manager for the Westside. "Frontier will provide communications services that will enable the Hops to provide a first-class fan experience at the stadium, including FiOS internet and TV services. Being part of something so important to the City of Hillsboro is exciting for Frontier, and underscores our commitment to the community. It is the perfect partnership opportunity for us."
In addition to providing a full communications platform of services to the team and fans, Frontier will sponsor the "Frontier Family Berm", providing casual seating in the outfield, affording families an informal way to catch the Hops in action. Berm seating is non-assigned, and families and others can bring blankets to spread out and enjoy a group outing. Berm seating has become popular at a number of baseball and other sports stadiums across the U.S. and the Hops organization is pleased to offer a similar seating opportunity to its fans.
"The Hillsboro Ballpark and the Hops are well on their way to an exciting launch and first pitch," said K.L. Wombacher, Hillsboro Hops Executive Vice President and General Manager. "We are pleased to welcome Frontier to our team of corporate partners and many exciting years of baseball action in Hillsboro. Providing a first-class experience for our fans is our top priority and the 'Frontier Family Berm' will be one of the signature locations within our new ballpark. Top-tier communications services and convenience for fans will be provided by Frontier to fans, media, and visitors."
