Series Concludes in Indianapolis Tonight
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (8-12) and West Division leaders Indianapolis Indians (15-7) close their four-game series at 7:15 tonight at Victory Field, with the IronPigs seeking the series split.
Indianapolis took game three for a 2-1 series lead Thursday night behind five strong innings from the rehabbing Francisco Liriano. Lehigh Valley's own rehabbing outfielder Delmon Young and his two hits weren't enough to quell the Indians, as they fell 5-1.
The IronPigs send RHP B.J. Rosenberg (0-1, 5.52) to the mound tonight looking to split the first four games of their eight-game road trip, while the Indians seek the series win with their RHP Brandon Cumpton (0-1, 5.56). The Indians have won five of their last seven, opposite of the IronPigs who have dropped six of seven dating back to their home series against the Buffalo Bisons.
'Pigs infielder Cody Asche is riding an eight-game hitting streak, batting .452 (14-31) over that span. The third baseman has knocked three doubles and driven in a pair of runs in those eight games, seeing his average rise from .162 to .294.
Today's game can be heard live on ESPN 1230 and 1320, with the pregame show beginning at 6:45 p.m.
