Daytona Beach, FL - Thanks to six no-hit innings from Zach Cates and 11 runs scored offensively, the Daytona Cubs won their third game in-a-row and fifth in their last six attempts in an 11-4 victory over the Palm Beach Cardinals at Jackie Robinson Ballpark, Tuesday.

After a 33-minute rain delay, Cates, who was coming off a start where he threw five shutout innings, did not allow a run or hit over his six innings of work. Cates walked three, struck out seven and improved to 3-2 on the season while lowering his ERA to 3.18.

For the fifth time in six home games, Daytona scored in the first inning. 2B Tim Saunders was hit by a RHP Chris Corrigan pitch to start the game, stole second to improve to nine-for-nine in stolen bases this season, and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by CF Zeke DeVoss that was mishandled by Cardinals first baseman Danny Stienstra which allowed DeVoss to reach. SS Javier Baez produced the Cubs' first run with a ground out, and after RF Jorge Soler grounded out, LF John Andreoli laced a two-out double to the right-center field gap which scored DeVoss to extend the Cubs lead to 2-0.

Daytona added three runs in the third, one in the fourth and five in the seventh to blow open the game to 11-0.

Saunders and DeVoss scored three runs apiece in the one-two spots in the lineup for the Cubs. 3B Ben Carhart continued his torrid hitting and run-producing with two more hits on Tuesday, including another RBI double with two outs in the third. Carhart finished 2-4 with two RBIs, and is now hitting .300 on the season.

Baez drove in two, and Cubs first baseman Dustin Geiger picked up his team-leading 23rd RBI of the season. DH Anthony Giansanti drove in two with a two-run single in the Cubs five-run seventh.

The Cardinals scored all four runs in the eighth and ninth off Cubs reliever RHP Starling Peralta who made his first appearance since April 11th (shoulder).

Daytona will look for the four-game sweep of Palm Beach on Education Day at Jackie Robinson Ballpark on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 10:35 a.m.
