Hops Announce Five Founding Partners
Hillsboro, OR (May 2, 2013) - The Hillsboro Hops (@HillsboroHops) announced today that they have solidified agreements with five "Founding Corporate Partners". The team hopes to land a 6th and final Founding Corporate Partner by the start of the upcoming baseball season.
The corporate partners include: BridgePort Brewing, Nike, OregonLive.com/The Oregonian, Les Schwab and Tuality Healthcare.
The BridgePort Brewing partnership includes BridgePort brands featured throughout the stadium through signage and logos. An official BridgePort Beer Garden will be located off of the first base line with access to food, craft beer and a great view of the field. In addition, BridgePort will be producing a limited small batch Hillsboro Hops special brew to be poured at the beer garden and BrewPub in the pearl district of Portland.
"Many people probably know that we are Oregon's oldest brewery, but what people don't know is that we're a bunch of baseball nuts," comments Dan Wecker, Regional Sales Manager for BridgePort Brewing. "To be given the chance to create not only a beer, but an experience for Hops fans is incredibly exciting for our staff and we can't wait to see what people think!"
Nike will provide the Hillsboro Hops with home and road jerseys, pants, batting practice tops, jackets and a base layer.
OregonLive.com/The Oregonian are the exclusive print and online partners of the Hops. OregonLive.com will have a Hillsboro Hops app available for fans and will have daily coverage of the Hops throughout the season.
"The Oregonian and OregonLive.com are proud of their founding partnership with the Hillsboro Hops as it fits perfectly with our history of strong community partnerships," said N. Christian Anderson III, publisher of The Oregonian and Jim Bridges, general manager of OregonLive.com. "No one will cover the Hops like The Oregonian, our Hillsboro Argus, and OregonLive.com, all that content will be presented on OregonLive.com. We're delighted that professional baseball is back in the metro Portland area."
Les Schwab is the official Tire company of the hops and will serve as the title sponsor of the Honorary bat girl/bat boy promotion. Kids sign up at any Les Schwab location in the Portland Metro area for a chance of a lifetime to be a bat girl/boy for a Hops game.
"Les Schwab Tire Centers welcomes the Hillsboro Hops organization to the greater Portland area and is very excited to be a founding partner with the area's newest professional sports franchise," said Joe Rector, Manager of Les Schwab Tire Centers. "The baseball facility is first-class and we look forward to watching the Hops grow their fan base."
Tuality Healthcare will be the official team physician of the Hops and provide a team of healthcare professionals to Hops players. Dr. David Buuck of Tuality will serve as the team's doctor.
"As western Washington County's leading healthcare provider, Tuality Healthcare is pleased to be one of the founding sponsors of the Hillsboro Hops," said Dick Stenson, Tuality Healthcare President and Chief Executive Officer. "Baseball is America's pastime and we're proud to welcome the Hops to Hillsboro as the only professional baseball team in the Portland Metro area. Play ball and good luck to the Hops in their inaugural season."
All founding partners will have featured signage adjacent to the video board, promotional opportunities, hospitality opportunities, and use of the Hops team marks for co-marketing.
The Hillsboro Hops will play their first season in Oregon after moving from Yakima, Washington. The team will begin their 76-game regular season on Friday, June 14th with a three-game series against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes in Salem.
