'Pigs Aim to Cool Red-Hot Tribe Friday Night
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (10-16) look to cool off the red-hot Indianapolis Indians (21-7) tonight at Coca-Cola Park in game two of their four-game series. There's a post-game Friday Night Fireworks show, presented by the Stroke Center at Lehigh Valley Health Network.
Indianapolis enters tonight's game with the best record in the International League, and it has won 16 of its past 19 games, including seven in a row since dropping game two of a doubleheader against the IronPigs back on April 24 in Indy. Lehigh Valley has been a separate story, as the 'Pigs are just 3-10 over their past 13 games, and carry a 2-9 home record in to tonight's contest.
After snapping his 12-game hitting streak last night, Cesar Hernandez still sits second in the league with 36 hits, but the Tribe's Jordy Mercer isn't far behind with 32 knocks of his own. In five games against the IronPigs this season, Mercer is hitting to a tune of .444 (8-for-18) with two doubles, a triple and 10 RBIs.
RHP Tyler Cloyd (0-3, 6.67) gets the ball for the IronPigs in his sixth start this season, coming off a seven-inning, three-run no-decision last Saturday at Louisville. The Indians, who have the league's best ERA at 2.71, have yet to name a starter.
Tonight's game can be seen on the IronPigs Television Network powered by Service Electric beginning at 6:30 p.m. on TV2 Sports and can also be heard live on ESPN 1230 and 1320, with the pre-game show beginning at 6:35 p.m.
