Rain Halts Naturals/Cardinals Game
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Northwest Arkansas Naturals and Springfield Cardinals were able to play 10 outs before rain stopped their game with one out in the bottom of the second inning on Thursday night with the Naturals holding a 2-1 lead. After a rain delay of nearly two hours, the game was postponed with the teams playing a pair of seven-inning games tomorrow beginning at 5:09 p.m. The statistics from the completed portion of tonight's game will not count.
This is the third consecutive rainout of games between the two clubs, as the final two games of last week's four-game series at Arvest Ballpark fell victim to weather on Thursday and Friday. The Naturals and Cardinals also experienced a rainout at Hammons Field on April 23. That game was made up the next day with the Cardinals winning the first game of the doubleheader, 8-1, while the Naturals won the second game, 10-3 to claim a split.
The Northwest Arkansas Naturals are the Double-A Texas League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals and play at state-of-the-art Arvest Ballpark, located in Springdale. Visit our website, nwanaturals.com, for information on season tickets and ticket plans.
