2013 Danville Braves Promotional Calendar
DANVILLE, Va. - The Danville Braves would like to officially announce the promotional calendar for the upcoming 2013 season. Fans that make their way out to the stadium this summer will be in store for a great set of promotions this season with the D-Braves.
For the second straight season, the D-Braves will open their season at American Legion Post 325 Field playing host to the Princeton Rays on July 20, with first pitch set for 7:00 p.m. The first 1,000 fans to arrive at the stadium Thursday will receive a 2013 Magnetic Schedule courtesy of the Centra Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center. M&M Furniture continues the schedule giveaways Friday with Schedule T-Shirts for the first 300 fans in attendance.
The Danville Braves are very active in the community and take great pride in helping support charitable organizations. On June 29, the D-Braves would like to invite you out to Military Appreciation Night presented by Danville Scion, Angus Heating & Air, and Blue Ridge Beverage. The Braves will be wearing special camouflaged jerseys that will be auctioned off in a silent auction format during the course of the game. All the proceeds from the sale of the jerseys will benefit the Danville Veteran's Memorial. In addition to the raffle, all active and retired military will be granted free admission to the game against the Bluefield Bluejays.
In addition to supporting the military, Danville will host their annual Cancer Awareness night on Saturday, August 10. The Danville players will all be wearing specially made light blue jerseys during the game, and the jerseys will be raffled off while the game is going on. The money from each jersey sale will be donated to the Centra Foundation and the Danville Cancer Association.
Fans that enjoy giveaway will be happy with what they can walk away with this summer. July 12 kicks off the giveaways with the first 500 fans receiving a 20th Anniversary Card Set sponsored by Danville Paint and Supply. Each pack will have cards of assorted players, and some lucky packs will contain autographed cards. Craig Kimbrel will make an appearance in Danville in the form of a bobble head presented by Haymore Lawn and Garden Center. The first 500 fans on July 27 will receive a bobble head of the former D-Brave and 2011 National League Rookie of the Year.
The giveaways continue into the next calendar month as on August 2 there will be a special giveaway presented by G&G Towing. The first 500 fans will receive a special set of cards featuring five players from the Danville area who went on to play for the Danville Braves.
Following the July 3 game against the Burlington Royals, there will be postgame fireworks at the stadium to celebrate Independence Day.
The American Red Cross will host a pair of blood drives at the stadium for people to donate. On July 1, those who donate will receive an undated ticket for use at any D-Braves regular season home game. At second drive, on August 22, those who donate with receive a soda voucher for the inside the stadium.
Severn Trent Services is proud to present a food drive on July 26 to collect non-perishable food items for a local food shelter, God's Storehouse. Any attendee who brings three non-perishable food items will be given an undated ticket for use at any future Danville Braves regular season home game.
July 26 will also be Scout Night at the stadium allowing any current scout who comes to the Friday game wearing their uniform will be granted free entry to the game against Burlington.
August 3, as the D-Braves take on the Pulaksi Mariners, Danville Community College will be hosting the DCC Educational Foundation Night at the stadium and the night will also be Hometown Hero Bobble Head night as a special bobble head celebrating a local hero will be given out to the first 500 fans at the game.
Once in July and again in August, Severn Trent Services, Wrenn-Yeats Funeral Home, and the Star-Tribune will team up to host a pair of Faith Nights at the stadium. These nights consist of discounted tickets for local churches and, before the game, there is live music around the concourse for attendees to enjoy.
For the second straight season, the D-Braves will have Mystery Autographed Baseball night at the stadium. The team will sell autographed baseballs in brown bags with all proceeds benefitting Haven of Dan River Region, which is Danville/Pittsylvania County's Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Coalition.
July 11 will be the Virginia Department of the Treasury Unclaimed Property Program Night.
During the game against the Johnson City Cardinals on August 27, it is D.A.R.E Day at American Legion Field. Along with the special 11:00 a.m. start time; there will be special activities during the game for school aged children thanks to the Pittsylvania County D.A.R.E Program.
August 14 is Unused Ticket Night at the stadium, so do not let any unused tickets go to waste. Tonight fans can bring any unused tickets to this game only and be granted admission into the game. Certain restrictions apply and fans can call the D-Braves ticket office for more details.
The Danville Braves appreciate all fans that come out to the stadium and on August 24 the team wants to show its appreciation with a postgame fireworks display shortly after the conclusion of the game.
There are many season long weekday promotions that will go on at the stadium. A Monday home game means that it is Kunzlers Dollar Dog Night at the stadium with hotdogs being priced at just one dollar. On July 23 and August 13 it will be T-Shirt Tuesday and on August 1 it will be T-shirt Thursday as the first 300 guests to enter the park will receive a free t-shirt. Thursday's will feature discounted fountain drinks and draft beverages for Thirsty Thursday's presented by Buffalo Wild Wings.

Mini-plan packages and season tickets are currently available for the 2013 season. The Home Opener is scheduled for June 20 at 7:00 p.m., when the Braves play host to the Princeton Rays. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Ticket Office at (434) 797-3792 or in-person at the ALP 325 Field Box Office (Mon.-Fri., 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.).
