Free Military Tickets on Memorial Day Weekend

The Peoria Chiefs are home Memorial Day Weekend and are ready to celebrate with Military Appreciation Weekend including two fireworks shows and a visit from former St. Louis Cardinals slugger Jack Clark. All active and veteran members of the U.S. Military get in for free to all four games May 24-27 and residents of the City of Peoria get half price tickets.

      To get their free tickets, members or veterans of any branch of service need to bring their military-issued ID or Veterans card to the Dozer Park Box Office. Military members will be honored and recognized throughout the weekend at Dozer Park.

      To get the discounted tickets for any of the four games during Memorial Day weekend, Peoria residents need to bring a driver's license, ID card or proof of residence to the Dozer Park Box Office. The discounts are not available online. Fans can purchase tickets in advance or on the day of the game. The box office is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on non-game day and from 10:00 a.m. until the seventh inning on game days.

      The Memorial Day weekend kicks off with a 6:30 Friday night game on May 24 that features an appearance by 1980s Cardinals star Jack Clark, a Flat Screen Friday with six flat screen TV giveaways, 25 cent hot dogs and the Chiefs take on the Cubs affiliate from Kane County at 6:30 p.m.

      Saturday May 25 the Chiefs host the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at 6:30 p.m. with a post-game Fireworks show along with First Responders Night, Military Appreciation Weekend and a Pitch-In For Charity Tennis Ball Toss to benefit Lifeline Pilots.

      Sunday May 26 is a unique Sunday evening game with Fireworks and a 6:30 p.m. start. All kids 12 and under get in free and also get a coupon for free ice cream from Sonic as part of the Sonic SuperKids Sunday promotion. The first 1500 fans get a Chiefs player poster giveaway presented by the Journal Star and fans can play catch on the field before the game while Chiefs players sign autographs.

     The series and homestand ends on Memorial Day with a 1:00 p.m. start against Wisconsin. The Memorial Day game also features a pre-game family picnic. For a list of full promotions visit www.peoriachiefs.com
