WTKT-AM is Harrisburg's new radio home

March 15, 2006
WTKT-AM (1460-The Ticket) announces it will be the new flagship radio station of the Harrisburg Senators. WTKT has a more powerful signal than the Senators' previous home, WKBO-AM, allowing more fans to listen to games.

"We welcome the Harrisburg Senators to WTKT for their 20th season," said WTKT operations manager, RJ Harris. "It is a perfect fit. With WTKT's 5,000 watts, Senators fans in York, Lancaster, Lebanon, and Carlisle will now be able to follow the mid-state's favorite baseball team."

Senators general manager, Todd Vander Woude, is also pleased with the switch. "The Senators are thrilled to be able to upgrade our radio broadcast as we celebrate our 20th season," said Vander Woude. "We have always considered radio an important part of what we do and this move to an all-sports station will increase visibility."

Terry Byrom and Mark Mattern remain the radio announcers for the Senators. They will join a stacked radio lineup that includes Jim Rome, sports radio's most listened-to personality, and Jed Donahue, Central Pennsylvania's premiere sports authority.

WTKT is all sports, all the time. It is an affiliate of Fox Sports Radio which prides itself in being caller-intensive and personality-driven.

WTKT is owned and operated by Clear Channel, which also owns WHP-AM (Talk Radio 580), WRVV-FM (97.3 The River), WRBT-FM (Bob 94.9), WHKF-FM (99.3 KISS), as well as WHP-TV (CBS 21).
