Lincecum wins 2009 Cy Young Award

Washington State native wins National League pitching award

Tim Lincecum, who pitched at Liberty High School in Renton and the University of Washington, was awarded the National League Cy Young award. Lincecum was 18-5 for the San Francisco Giants, with a league-leading 265 strikeouts.

Lincecum began his professional career with the fellow Northwest League team, Salem-Keizer and his first professional workout was at Yakima County Stadium.
