66ers Slugger Named Player of the Week

66ers Slugger Named Player of the Week
May 20, 2013

San Bernardino, CA -  After a home run heavy week, Inland Empire 66ers first baseman Michael Snyder has
been recognized for his efforts by being named California League player of the week. Snyder had three multi-hit games in the week, and smashed three home runs over the six games last week.
"He's a talented young hitter with power to all fields," said 66ers hitting coach Brenton Del Chiaro about his
award winning hitter. "Michael is eager to learn something new every day and has the ability to apply it right
away."
Snyder was a Pioneer League All Star in 2012 after leading that circuit in doubles with 25, but he faced a huge
test skipping a level to the High-A Halos. So far Snyder has passed that test, currently leading the team in runs
and doubles, and ranking in the top three on his team in Batting Average, home runs, RBI and hits.
During his award winning week Snyder hit .381 with three home runs, six RBI and he scored six runs. Most
importantly, while Snyder was on his award winning run he helped his team move into first place in the
California League Southern Division.
