Storm game suspended

May 23, 2013

Lake Elsinore, CA-On Thursday night the Storm baseball game was suspended and The Diamond was cleared for the safety of our fans. The Storm evacuated The Diamond due to a call regarding a "suspicious package." We worked with the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's station to handle the situation peacefully and without incident. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department will be issuing a press release shortly.

At the point of stoppage, the Storm and the Nuts were scoreless with RHP Matt Jackson pitching a shutout with five strikeouts and only three hits in 6 1/3 innings of work.

The game between the Storm and Modesto on Thursday will now be rescheduled for Saturday at 5 p.m. with Saturday's regularly scheduled game to follow 30 minutes after the end of the conclusion of the make-up game.

Any fan that attended the suspended game on Thursday, May 23, will be able to redeem their ticket stub for any Storm game of their choosing with exception of the July 3 game against the High Desert Mavericks.

Gates will open at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, where the first 1,500 fans will receive a limited edition Storm fleece blanket.

For more information on Thursday's events at The Diamond please refer to the Riverside County Police Department.
