Homestand includes Brett bobblehead, fireworks and more

(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) A George Brett bobblehead, a Ford Fireworks show, and popular discount nights will be part of a seven-game homestand for the Lexington Legends beginning Monday, May 27 at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The Legends, in their first year as an affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, will take on the Kannapolis Intimidators, a Chicago White Sox affiliate, in the first three games of the homestand. The Hagerstown Suns, an affiliate of the Washington Nationals, will provide the opposition in the last four games.

            "The Legends are at home all week, and there will be a lot of excitement at Whitaker Bank Ballpark," said Legends General Manager Seth Poteat. "We've really been looking forward to that first George Brett bobblehead night. These next seven games will be a lot of fun for our fans."

            The schedule:

            Monday, May 27:  Legends vs. Kannapolis, 7:05 p.m. All Monday night home games are "Kids Eat Free" nights, sponsored by Members Heritage Federal Credit Union. All kids age 12 and under will receive a voucher good for a free meal and drink.

            Tuesday, May 28:  Legends vs. Kannapolis, 7:05 p.m. Tuesday night is 36-cent hot dog night. The price is in recognition of the Ford F-150 being the number one selling vehicle for 36 consecutive years.

            Wednesday, May 29:  Legends vs. Kannapolis, 12:05 p.m. All Wednesday home games, with the exception of July 3, will begin at 12:05. Fans are invited to enjoy a "business day special."

            Thursday, May 30:  Legends vs. Hagerstown, 7:05 p.m. Each Thursday home game is a "Thirsty Thursday." presented by Kentucky Ale, and fans can enjoy beer and Pepsi products for one dollar each.

            Friday, May 31:  Legends vs. Hagerstown, 7:05 p.m. The Legends will honor their major league affiliate's greatest player with a George Brett bobblehead. Friday's giveaway is the first in a series of three different Brett bobblehead nights, recognizing Brett's accomplishment of winning American League batting championships in three different decades. The three bobbleheads will depict Brett at different stages of his 21-year career with the Royals. A Ford Fireworks show will follow the game.

            Saturday, June 1: Legends vs. Hagerstown, 7:05 p.m. The Legends will welcome the month of June with a beach towel giveaway for the first 1,000 fans to enter the gates, presented by Unlimited Possibilities. It's also 4-H night. The game sponsor is Sanofi, a global healthcare company. www.sanofi.us

            Sunday, June 2:  Legends vs. Hagerstown, 1:35 p.m. Every Sunday home game is a JIF Kids Club Sunday. Kids Club members receive special benefits such as t-shirts, discounts at the Legends Clubhouse store and many more (More information is available at lexingtonlegends.com.) Kids run the bases after each Sunday home game.
