Twice is Nice: Allie honored again
Charleston, WV (May 28, 2013) - The South Atlantic League office has announced its' Players-of-the-Week for the time period of May 20 through 26 and West Virginia Power infielder Stetson Allie was honored for his work during that time span. The infielder hit .517 during that time span with three home runs and 15 runs batted in, playing all seven days in the process. West Virginia won all seven games from May 20-26.
Allie, who also earned this honor for the first week and a half of the season, has a team-best .340 average overall, is tied for the league lead with 13 home runs, and leads the South Atlantic League with 47 runs batted in. The Pittsburgh Pirates 2010 second round draft choice has played in 49 of a possible 51 games this season, splitting time between playing first base and serving as the Power's designated hitter.
Allie and left-handed pitcher Orlando Castro are the only West Virginia players to win league honors this season. Castro was selected as the Pitcher-of-the-Week for April 29-May 5.
