Ports Broadcasts To Air On KSTN 1420 AM
All 140 regular season games will be aired by the station, including two exhibition games vs. the Sacramento River Cats and any potential playoff games. Ports games will also be aired via the team's Live 365 internet stream at stocktonports.com.
In recent years, KSTN has established itself as the home for most local sports teams. In addition to Ports baseball, the station also carries Oakland A's baseball, Stockton Thunder hockey, Stockton Lightning arena football, California Cougars soccer, and University of the Pacific athletics.
Due to the heavy volume of sports programming on the station, roughly half of the 140 Ports games will be aired via tape delay following A's baseball. The balance of the games will either be aired live or joined in progress following A's games as the schedule permits. The broadcast schedule for April is attached to this release, and a complete schedule will be released this week.
For the third straight season, Zack Bayrouty will be handling the on-air play-by-play duties. Bayrouty, who enters his second season as Ports' lead broadcaster, will be behind the mic for all home and road games.
"We're excited to return to KSTN and renew our partnership with them," said Ports President Pat Filippone. "The Ports are happy to be back on a station with a heavy local presence, and also on a station that carries Oakland A's baseball. We're looking forward to bringing the exciting action from all Ports games to our fans over the airwaves."
The first Ports broadcast will be Tuesday's exhibition game vs. the River Cats at Banner Island Ballpark.
Ports season tickets, mini plans, and individual game tickets for the 2008 season are now available. Opening Day is Thursday, when the Ports host the rival Modesto Nuts with first pitch coming at 7:05 p.m. For ticket information, or information regarding Ports broadcasts, contact the Ports front office at (209) 644-1900.
