51s To Play Iowa Cubs at Wrigley Field on Sunday, August 9
Last summer, the single-A Peoria Chiefs of the Midwest League played the Kane County Cougars in front of approximately 26,000 fans for the first minor league game ever to be played at Wrigley Field.
"We're excited," I-Cubs President/General Manager Sam Bernabe said. "It's a great opportunity not only for our guys to play in Wrigley, but maybe to pick up a few more fans from around the Chicago area."
The starting time for the game will be 1:20 p.m. (CT) and tickets are available on iowacubs.com. The game will mark the first of a four-game series between these two teams. Both teams will return to Des Moines to resume the series on Monday, August 10 at 7:05.
"We are delighted to be the opponent for this game and to also help the Iowa franchise promote Triple-A baseball to the fans of Chicago," 51s President/General Manager Don Logan said.
