Bisons unveil new jersey designs for 2009

Mets Triple-A affiliate shows off new threads
January 16, 2009
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bisons will have an exciting and dynamic new look when they take the field to start a new era in team history on Opening Day, April 9, at Coca-Cola Field.

The team unveiled their new home, road and alternative uniforms and caps to Bisons fans at their annual Hot Stove Luncheon at the Adam's Mark Hotel Grand Ballroom. All three styles connect the Bisons to their new parent club, the New York Mets, while each design features a level of uniqueness that is unmatched in minor league baseball.

All three designs are complimented by a cap from New Era Cap Company, the official cap provider of Major League Baseball and the Buffalo Bisons.

"We were all excited about presenting our new team logo to our fans back in December, but to see it now on a full uniform really has everyone looking forward to the start of the season," said Mike Buczkowski, Vice President/General Manager of the Bisons. "Each uniform provides our team with a dynamic look and will help usher in a new era in our 100 plus years of storied history."

All three new jersey tops and on-field caps are available on the team's official website, Bisons.com.

Home Uniform
The traditional 'home white' jersey features the word "Bisons" scripted boldly across the chest with a number on the lower-left chest. On the back, the player's nameplate moves across the shoulders in Bisons blue with a multi-dimensional number below. The new Bisons logo is stitched on the left sleeve and each arm contains solid blue piping. White knee-high pants feature the same blue piping down the length of the leg. Buffalo's home cap is provided by longtime partner, the New Era Cap Company. This cap is in Bisons blue with a capital "B" on the front and an orange button on top.

Road Uniform
A classic gray look will greet opponents when the Bisons visit in 2009. The Buffalo font on the front of the jersey is reminiscent of the Mets' road uniforms and the interlocking "NY" mirrors the vintage logo of the Bisons' new affiliate. Together, the two proudly confirm that the Bisons are from 'Buffalo, NY.' The new logo is anchored on the left sleeve and trimmed with blue piping that finds its way down each gray pant leg. On the back, a player's name scrolls across the shoulders in solid Bisons blue. The new road look is topped off with a solid black cap that touts the uppercase "B" from the Bisons logo.

Alternative Uniform
Sunday and Thursday afternoons bring out the Bisons "alternate jersey top" at Coca-Cola Field. The light-weight solid black top features the Bisons new logo on the left chest and a light blue nameplate that is a part of the shading in the team's primary logo. The front has Bisons blue piping around the neck and sleeve that also travels down on both sides of the button-line. The piping continues on the white pant legs with a black belt and socks finishing off the Herd's third look. The alternate cap is in Bisons blue with a black bill. On the front, it displays the capital "B" from the team logo and "NY" to abbreviate Buffalo, New York.
