Ashton Goudeau and Jakob Junis Projected for IF

Two More Pitchers Could Join the Chukars

IDAHO FALLS, ID. -- Pitchers Ashton Goudeau and Jakob Junis are the latest prospects in the Kansas City Royals organization projected for Idaho Falls. The Chukars begin the 2013 season June 20th.

Ashton Goudeau is a 6'6" right-handed pitcher from Bossier City, Louisiana. The 20 year old was a 27th round draft choice by the Kansas City Royals in 2012 from Maple Woods Community College in Kansas City. Goudeau spent the 2012 season with the Royals Rookie-Affiliate in the Arizona League. The relief pitcher appeared in 13 games and posted a 1-1 record with a 3.97 ERA. The right hander struck out 43 batters in 34 innings.

Jakob Junis spent the 2012 season with the Burlington Royals, another Royals Rookie-Affiliate. The right-hander started six games for Burlington, and pitched in relief in one other game. The Rock Falls, Illinois native finished the year 2-2 with a 4.15 ERA . The 20 year old was a 29th round draft pick by the Kansas City Royals in 2011 from Rock Falls High School. Junis turned down a scholarship to North Carolina State to sign with the Royals. The 6'3" prospect played in Japan and Puerto Rico on high school All-Star teams.

The Idaho Falls Chukars are the Rookie-Advanced Affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. This season, the Chukars will be celebrating 75 years of professional Baseball in Idaho Falls.
