Chiefs announce spring training scedule

Syracuse, NY- The Syracuse Chiefs announced today the team's 2009 Spring Training schedule. This year's spring slate will consist of 13 games beginning on March 21 and ending on April 4.

All of the Chiefs' home games will be played at the Washington Nationals Training Complex in Viera, Florida. Opponents include the Gwinnett Braves, the triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, the Toledo Mud Hens, affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, and the Round Rock Express, affiliate of the Houston Astros.

Minor league staff is set to report in Viera on March 8 with pitchers and catchers reporting the next day. The first full squad workout will take place on March 15.
