First Place Bank and Scrappers Team up For 'Every Monday Matters' Promotion

June 6, 2013

On Monday home games played during the 2013 Scrappers season, fans can bring a new book or clothing to be distributed to the needy by local charitable organizations, or non-perishable food items, to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers box office, for Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley. With a donation, fans will receive a free general admission ticket to the game. In addition, if fans use a First Place Bank debit card to purchase tickets to a Monday Scrappers home game, First Place Bank will make a donation to the Second Harvest Food Bank at the end of the season.

"As a community bank, we want to make a difference for people right here in the Mahoning Valley. During the summer, donations to charities tend to fall off, but the need remains. Every Monday Matters is about helping our neighbors in need, while providing free tickets to fans and supporting the Mahoning Valley Scrappers," said Tom Shafer, CEO of First Place Bank.

"We're proud to partner with First Place Bank in this effort," said Jordan Taylor, Mahoning Valley Scrappers General Manager. "The Scrappers are committed to community support, and Every Monday Matters is a great way to help the needy while enjoying a night out."

Monday home game days will be held June 17, June 24, July 15, and July 29 at Eastwood Field.
