Stockton Ports Home Runs To Aid LULAC Scholarship Fund

June 28, 2007
STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Ports and Anheuser-Busch are pleased to announce that they will be contributing to the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Scholarship Fund for San Joaquin County Students.

With every home run hit by a Ports player at Banner Island Ballpark, the Ports and Anheuser-Busch will donate $50 to the LULAC Scholarship Fund. The LULAC Scholarship provides scholarship money to promising youth in San Joaquin County who wish to attend colleges and universities.

The home run contributions will run until the end of the 2007 season, when the Ports and Anheuser-Busch plan to present a check to the LULAC Scholarship Fund on the field prior to a Ports game at Banner Island Ballpark.

"Our partnership with Anheuser-Busch has been one of the strongest over the years, and we're thrilled to be taking part in this effort with them," said Ports President Pat Filippone. "Community initiatives are of chief importance to the Ports and our partners, and the LULAC Scholarship Fund is a very worthy cause that we're honored to help support."

Anheuser-Busch, a Stockton Ports Champion Partner, also cited the importance of contributing to the local community.

"Anheuser-Busch is always eager to support initiatives such as the LULAC Scholarship Fund, and we're pleased we can do this in conjunction with the Stockton Ports," said Leslie Snyder, Marketing Service Manager for Anheuser-Busch. "With each home run hit by the Ports, an even bigger home run will be generated with our local Hispanic youth. It's a win-win situation, and we're delighted to be a part of it."

The Stockton Ports play 40 home games in the second half of the season-more than any other California League team. For tickets, log on to www.stocktonports.com or visit the Ports Box Office in person. For more information on the LULAC Scholarship Fund, visit www.lulac.org/programs/scholar.html
