Dallas Braden, Danny Putnam Called Up To Oakland
Former Stockton Ports Dallas Braden and Danny Putnam were called up to the Oakland Athletics on Monday, April 23rd to fill the roster spots voided when Milton Bradley and Rich Harden were placed on the DL.
After two starts in AA-Midland where he struck out 13 batters in 12 innings and a third with AAA-Sacramento during which he struck out seven batters without giving up a run, Braden was called up to help the ailing A's pitching staff. In his first start with Oakland (April 24th at Baltimore) he struck out six batters in six innings while allowing only one run.
Putnam will serve as a backup outfielder behind Nick Swisher, Shannon Stewart and another former Ports outfielder - Travis Buck.
