Cutters to Debut New "Dugout Deck"

June 13, 2013

The Williamsport Crosscutters open their 15th Anniversary Season at Historic Bowman Field under new manager Nelson Prada, Tuesday, June 18 as they host the State College Spikes at 7:05pm. Opening Night 2013 is presented by Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania & KISS 102-7.

The game will also mark the debut of the new "Dugout Deck" located behind the 3rd base dugout. The "Dugout Deck" provides a new social area for fans attending games and was built with a grant by the Lycoming County Visitors Bureau and the help of Your Building Center.

"This new area is part of our long-range plans to have less structured seating and more social areas at Historic Bowman Field," said Cutters Vice-President Gabe Sinicropi.

The deck, which will feature bar-rail seating along with high tables and chairs, is open to any ticket holder. New craft beers and food items will be available on the deck and at the Hot Corner Grill adjacent to the deck.

"This is not a reserved area; it's simply a different spot to enjoy a great view of the action while also having the opportunity to chat with your family and friends at the game. While this is new to Bowman Field it's now commonplace in stadiums large and small across the country. We truly believe that this will quickly become the most popular spot in the ballpark."

In addition, the Crosscutters have announced that the right-field bleachers will be closed to fans for most games during the 2013 season. "We want to get fans inside the stadium," said Sinicropi. "We think it will create an overall better environment and it's a prelude to some future renovations that we hope to announce in conjunction with the City of Williamsport." The team does plan to open the bleachers for some of its bigger events including select Pack the Park and Community Nights.

Box seat and general admission tickets for Opening Night are still available. Fans may order online at crosscutters.com, via phone at (570) 326-3389 or in-person at Bowman Field Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and Tuesday (Opening Day) from 9am-3pm. The box office will then open for the game at 5:30pm.
