June 3, 2009
(Bowie, MD) Former IronBird Brian Snyder continues his stout hitting performance in Double-A Bowie this season.

He has compiled a .342 average with 54 hits, nine homers and 38 RBI in 45 games with the Baysox. His batting average ranks third in the Eastern League.

Snyder, a first round (13th overall) selection in 2005, played two seasons with Aberdeen. The infielder hit .263 with 18 runs and 17 RBI in two seasons for the IronBirds.

He hit .283 in 118 games with the Single-A Delmarva after an injury plagued 2006 season, earning the Moe Drabowsky Comeback Player of the Year Award in 2007.

Last season, the right-handed hitter recorded his best professional average to date, hitting .315 with 80 RBI and 13 home runs in 116 contests.

Snyder was ranked the ninth best prospect in the Orioles farm system earlier this spring by Baseball America.
