Ottawa Lynx announce promotions calendar

OTTAWA -- The Ottawa Lynx are pleased to announce another great season of promotions at Lynx Stadium. The "It's Fun to Be a Fan" initiative returns this season as a multi-faceted marketing campaign that will focus on what makes Lynx baseball and all of Minor League Baseball fun.

The 2006 promotional schedule will kick off with a bang, as on Opening Day (Thursday, April 6th) Sunquest Vacations will award an all-inclusive trip for two to the Mayan Riviera courtesy of Algonquin Travel at Gloucester Centre. The trip is valued at over $3,500! * (Subject to Terms and Conditions, some restrictions apply.)

2006 will also see the Lynx roll out a full weekly schedule of promotions, where each night of the week will allow fans to have a great reason to come to the park. The list is highlighted by Must-Win-Mondays (if the Lynx lose, fans can redeem ticket stub for another Monday night regular season home game), Jr. Lynx Kids Club Tuesdays (Jr. Lynx members get in for FREE with an adult ticket), $2.00 Concession Wednesdays presented by CFRA (selected concessions items will be available for only $2.00), Eagle Sports $5.00 Jersey Fridays presented by Team 1200 (kids 14 & under wearing a sports jersey get in for $5 and have a chance to win an Eagle Sports prize), Player Postcard Saturdays (first 500 kids 14 & under will receive a Lynx player postcard) and Exterior by Design Family Fun Days (every Sunday regular season home game in June, July, August and September; Family Fun Day ticket packages include 4 tickets, 4 pop, and 4 hotdogs for only $40!).

The Lynx 2006 home opener will take place on Thursday, April 6th, when Ottawa hosts the Louisville Bats. First pitch for Opening Day is scheduled for 6:05 pm with doors opening at 4:00 pm.
