Trey Burke gets Clippers logo tattoo

Former Michigan standout pays homage to his city
June 23, 2013

Living in the heart of Buckeye Nation, it can be difficult for Columbus residents to give credit to an athlete from the University of Michigan when credit is due, but there can be exceptions to that rule.

Trey Burke, formerly of Columbus Northland High School, earned national recognition and accolades as the star point guard for the Michigan Wolverines basketball team. Burke led the Wolverines to the 2013 NCAA Final Four, while being the consensus National Player of the Year.

Just one week away from hearing his name called during the NBA draft, Burke decided to get a new tattoo recognizing the town in which he grew up. That new tattoo prominently displays the Columbus Clippers logo, earning the approval of the rival Buckeye fan base.

Regardless of what uniform Trey Burke will end up wearing this season, you'll be able to see the Columbus Clippers logo displayed proudly on his right forearm.

UPDATE: Trey Burke was drafted 9th overall to the Minnesota Timberwoves, then traded to the Utah Jazz.
