Catfish to welcome troops home
The home opener will also serve as an opportunity for the Columbus community to thank Active Duty soldiers of Fort Benning, and welcome home the 3rd Brigade and the 36th Engineering Group. On that special night the Catfish will celebrate the honor, courage and strength of the troops returning from Iraq.
Prior to the game, members of the 3rd Brigade will sing the national anthem and throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Military personnel and their families will receive free tickets when showing their military identification. Every fan in attendance will get an American flag to show support for the troops.
Gates will open at 6 p.m. Tickets are subject to availability.
The Catfish season begins Thursday, April 6, on the road against the Greenville Drive at 7:05 p.m. For more information, or to order tickets, please call (706) 571-8866 or visit ColumbusCatfish.com.
