BlueClaws' Finkel travels with Globetrotters
If you have ever been to a BlueClaws game then you have undoubtedly seen Eric Finkel. Finkel has been entertaining BlueClaws fans on the field since their first season in New Jersey. Finkel is most commonly recognized by BlueClaws fans because of his trademark tuxedo, which he wears to every game.
Finkel is currently serving as the public address announcer for the Harlem Globetrotters. His schedule is rather busy because the Globetrotters will sometimes play two games on the same day and they are constantly traveling.
"We are happy and excited for Eric with his new job," said Geoff Brown, Lakewood BlueClaws general manager. "When we heard Eric was going to be involved with the Globetrotters, I immediately knew it was a perfect fit."
BlueClaws fans should not be concerned that they have lost a great entertainer because Finkel will be back in Lakewood in time for Opening Day, scheduled for April 13 at 6:35 p.m.
Full season and partial plan tickets for the 2006 BlueClaws season are on sale now, including the BlueClaws May 15 game at Citizen's Bank Park in Philadelphia. The BlueClaws drew 444,607 fans during their fifth anniversary season, and welcomed the team's 2-millionth fan, doing so faster than any other South Atlantic League and New Jersey professional baseball team.
Lakewood will open its 2006 home slate on April 13 against Delmarva at 6:35 p.m. For tickets or more information, please call (732) 901-7000 or visit the BlueClaws' website at www.blueclaws.com.
