OF Engel Beltre Recalled by Rangers
ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Outfielder Engel Beltre has been recalled by the Texas Rangers and will be in uniform for tonight's game in St. Louis, the club announced today.
Beltre was hitting .300 (88-293) in 72 games with the Express this season, all starts at center field. He's hit 22 extra-base hits, including 17 doubles and four home runs. He has 21 RBI and scored a team-high 44 runs. He's swiped 13 bases and drawn 26 walks in this season.
The 23-year-old was acquired from Boston on July 21, 2007. This is his first season at the Triple-A level after spending the 2012 season at Double-A Frisco. Beltre will be looking to make his Major League debut tonight.
With these moves, the Express' roster sits at 24 active players, the Pacific Coast League limit.
