Washington Nationals Outfielder Bryce Harper to Begin Rehab Stint with the Potomac Nationals Tuesday

Woodbridge, VA-The Washington Nationals have announced that LF Bryce Harper will begin a rehabilitation assignment with the Class-A Advanced Potomac Nationals on Tuesday night at Pfitzner Stadium as the P-Nats take on the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Texas Rangers) at 7:05pm.

Gates to The Pfitz will open at 5:30pm on Tuesday evening.

Harper, 20, was placed on the 15-day disabled list with bursitis in his left knee on June 2nd after injuring the knee in a collision with the outfield wall at Dodger Stadium on May 13th. Harper aggravated the ailment sliding on May 26th at Nationals Park.

Harper, the reigning National League Rookie of the Year, was selected in the 1st round of the 2010 MLB First-Year Player Draft as the number one overall draft pick out of the College of Southern Nevada (NV). 

The left-handed slugging outfielder from Las Vegas, NV leads the Washington Nationals in batting average (.287) and on-base percentage (.386), while being tied for the team lead in home runs (12). Harper has scored 29 runs, collected 23 RBIs, and logged a .973 OPS in 44 games this season.

The length of Harper's rehabilitation stay with the Potomac Nationals is to be determined.
