Dash players, fans to shave their heads July 5
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (JUNE 25, 2013) - With the help of VS. Cancer, Winston-Salem Dash players and fans will support the fight of childhood cancer by shaving their heads at BB&T Ballpark on Friday, July 5, when the Dash host the Myrtle Beach Pelicans at 7 p.m.
After the game and prior to the scheduled fireworks show, some Dash players will donate their hair to the cause. Fans will be able to watch barbers from The Hair Den shave the players' heads on the field.
During the game, fans can contribute to the cause near the Kids Zone at BB&T Ballpark, where VS. Cancer will be raising awareness and funds. In addition, The Hair Den will have stations set up for fans to get their heads shaved to support the cause.
A local nonprofit organization, VS. Cancer is dedicated to helping save kids' lives by empowering athletes and communities to help fund lifesaving cancer efforts. Half of the evening's proceeds will help fund cancer research on a national level, while the other half will be donated to Brenner Children's Hospital, a part of the Wake Forest Baptist Health system here in Winston-Salem.
For more information or to donate to the worthwhile cause, fans can contact VS. Cancer at (336) 209-2187 or visit www.vs-cancer.org.
